New E93 Owner

I just flew to Atlanta and drove home with my 2008 E93. I am normally a high horsepower Mustang guy, but made the mistake of buying my wife a new 328i with the M-Sport package in 2011. Granted, it didn't have much horsepower, but I fell in love with the handling, ride, and general feel of the car. So...last fall I sold my supercharged 2004 Saleen convertible and began the search for an M. My Saleen had 620hp at the wheels, so the M3 is going to be a lot different (1/2 the torque). However, I am looking forward to learning about the different technologies for this car. I would like to say that I am not going to mod the car, but I was a Mustang mod maniac so I'm guessing this will translate to the M. The 500mi drive back to OH was a lot of fun.

I already know a few things I want to change as soon as I get it (mostly cosmetic). The car is red, which is great, but it has chrome around the windows. My wife's car had the black, which I like much better. So, am going to wrap the chrome ASAP. I also think I'll get the CF splitters for the front and CF spoiler for the back. Additionally, I'm toying with the idea of a 3d carbon fiber wrap for the top. Then I'll have to get a different set of wheels (concave), probably in black. Looking forward to reading and beginning the move from American muscle to German engineering. Hopefully I can get past being the boost junkie of old!

I'll post pics when I get it cleaned up. It rained off/on the whole way back to OH Saturday, then again today on the way to work. Unfortunately, it is supposed rain on/off all week, so next weekend is probably when I'll get it cleaned-up to take pics.

Specs on the car:
- Melbourne Red
- Black leather
- EDC
- iDrive
- DCT

Mods:
- Tint
- Borla SS exhaust (very deep tone, love it)
- Dinan CF intake
- Just ordered the wind deflector

Congrats. I had a Melbourne red E93 as well. Loved the duel purpose use of the hardtop. Made it feel like a coupe and convertible at the same time. Melbourne is my favorite color by far on this car.

I love Mustangs and the Saleen heritage...but you have just moved from drinking lite beer to a fine chateauneuf du pape...these M's are like a wild animal in a tuxedo.

Nice collection. The last '66 Cobra I saw at auction went for $995k. While I have an aviation consulting firm, I keep my hand in by flying test flights for aircraft manufacturers and flying as a safety pilot for a couple of high net worth individuals that fly their own Gulfstream G550s. One of them has a cherry Cobra that he got from Carroll himself.

wish mine was original but a replica!!!

I can only wish for an original AC Cobra, but my 66 Vette is a beast, 427 x3 duce and the 65 GTO is 389 x 3 duce as well.. Muscle will always be my passion, but there is nothing like the drive, sound and feel of the M3...... no matter if is the E36, M Roadster, E46 or my current replacement E93...

Obviously you too have a high-end passion.. Although I like to keep my toys on the ground, it must be pretty cool part of the mile-high club..

Too bad my wife just don't see it my ways.. Getting ready to pick up a Fatboy w/3" rake and dropped with some fatty on the rear.. Surprise honey!!

Got to love it...Bad Asses!!!

I'm with ya on the e46. I really like that body style, but wanted the v8. I tired for a long time to find a Laguna Seca Blue coupe with black leather and a 6-speed manual (heard bad things about the SMG), but never found one. Most I found had the lite grey interior, which I can't stand. I don't really like the soft top's but wanted a convertible, so I'm really happy with the one I got!

BTW - It really needs to quit raining here so I can wash the car and get some good pics! Friggin spring in OH...

EOD-51 - can you post a better pic of the spoiler on the back of your car? I'm looking to get one, but can't decide on the type. I've never been a big CF fan, so trying to decide if I just want to get a spoiler and front splitters in black. It would match the trim, which I am doing this weekend in gloss black...

CF Rear

Here are few pics... CF actually looks pretty good with the Jez Black due to the color variance... Hope it comes through.. been having problem loading and currently on assignment OCONUS so can't give you better Pics.. before and after my exhaust upgrade..

Matching front CF splitters

Here are few of the CF front splitters and I also added AC Schnitzer side skirts (short-read quarter only that follows the contour of the existing rocker), but did not take any pics before leaving but will post when I get back..
